If you like historical fiction that highlights ordinary women doing cool and extraordinary things, wearing beautiful clothes, attending fancy parties, living exciting and adventurous lives, finding romance, and traveling to exotic places, you'll like this one. I wouldn't call it a "beach read," but the author has found a way to tell an intense WWII spy story in a glamorous and novella-like way. Rooted in a female friendship, Librarians of Lisbon reminds us not to underestimate what we can do if the mission matters...and what we can survive. Plus, I've always wanted to experience Portugal, and this story allowed me to travel there in my mind until I can get there in person. Aproveitar!
